HENNA: AN ENDURING TRADITION

APPLYING HENNA TO BRIDES IS A TRADITION THAT DATES BACK CENTURIES. EVEN TODAY, A SOUTH ASIAN BRIDE'S LOOK IS INCOMPLETE WITHOUT THE GORGEOUS RED OF MEHNDI ADORNING HER HANDS - A SYMBOL OF celebration and good wishes AS SHE EMBARKS ON A NEW CHAPTER IN HER LIFE.

We love Henna at Beauty By Lishma!

Our MUA-in-chief, Lishma, herself is highly talented in this ancient art. She has been doing Henna on her family and friends since she was 8 years old. Lishma's foray in professional Henna Artistry started at age 18 when she started applying Bridal Henna. Lishma's artistry comes to life as she paints intricate patterns and figures (Bride, Groom, Ganesh, etc.) in her distinct freehand style.

At Beauty by Lishma, we mix our signature Mehndi paste from only fresh and organic ingredients. All of our Mehndi cones are hand-made and made-to-order.

In addition to Bridal Henna, our team of Henna Artists is available for Sangeet Nights, Mehndi Nights and Henna Parties.

"HENNA (also called "Mehndi") is the traditional South Asian art of painting hands, feet or body with a paste made from dried, powdered leaves of the Henna plant (botanical name: Lawsonia Inermis). Using the paste as a medium, the Henna artist draws intricate patterns which stain cherry red to brown color on the bride."

Each Henna pattern is as unique as each of our brides. Take a look at samples of the intricate patterns than adorn the hands of our beautiful brides.
Stunning, aren't they?
